ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY

What is Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)?

Multiple research studies have shown the benefits of human-animal contact. Amongst those benefits are the reduction of blood pressure, lower stress levels, and higher levels of oxytocin (the love hormone). Also, humans and mammals share the need for connection and pack affiliation. Animals can help us be in synchrony with them which makes our mirror neurons fire as a way to develop a sense of belonging, affiliation, and love.

How does AAT work?

Your pet is an important part of your life and can support you through difficult times. I provide a pet-friendly space where you are welcome to bring your pet to therapy where he will be an active part of the session. You can also request having my dog Mango join in the session.
